What is Laser Assisted Hatching (LAH)?

An improved IVF result can be achieved with the help of Laser Assisted Hatching. This process improves chances of the embryo implantation into the uterus. In LAH, a laser is used in the embryology part

When to opt for LAH?
What is the Procedure for Successful LAH:
After embryo transplantation, the outer layer of the embryo, known as the ‘Zona Pellucida’, is unable to hatch. This leads to failure of embryo implantation. The hatching achieved through LAH improves chances of embryo implantation into the uterus. Earlier fixed lasers were used to perform LAH. Nowadays, navi-lasers or movable lasers are used for LAH.

LAH is also used to take a blastomere biopsy of the embryo or for taking an ectoderm biopsy as well.
