The sperm count checks to see if there are an adequate amount of sperms. If the taster has below 20 million sperm per ml, this is considered to be an insufficient sperm count. Below 10 million is extremely low. A few men will have no sperms at all and are said to be azoospermic. This can come as a discourteous distress as the semen in these patients look completely normal – it is only on microscopic examination that the problem is detected.

Sperm morphology is known as the shape and size of individual sperm. The head shape is important because it affects the sperm’s ability to dissolve the outer surface of an egg and fertilize it. Normally, a good sperm supposed to have a normal oval head, with a linking mid-piece and a long straight tail. If too numerous sperms are unusually formed this is called teratozoospermia. This may mean the sperm are functionally irregular and will not be capable to fertilize the egg.

Factors that cause low sperm morphology.

Smoking– smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol and prohibited drugs are factors that cause sperm motility. These toxins are known to reduce both the quality and the quantity of the sperm. There mostly have access to the body during spraying of food crops.

Environmental damages– These are toxins like pesticides, herbicides tree-radicals, chemicals among others. These are not the only harmful products as metallic elements like cadmium; lead and arsenic are known to interfere with the production and development of sperms.

Medication– Certain prescriptions are bound to reduce sperm count. Some of these drugs include ketoconazole, sprironolactone, steroids among other medications. Therefore, it is advisable that you get all the necessary checkups before you are put under medication.

However, exercising only is not enough. You should also have a good diet plan. There are some foods can help you produce more sperm such as vitamin-rich vegetable, meat, seafood.
